Tour 8. Colorful Rajasthan: Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur. 10 days.

In this tour: Rajasthan is one of the most incredible areas in India. Beautiful, colorful, unique, traditional. Indian East fairy tale. Four best cities of Rajasthan have second names: Pink, Golden, Blue and White cities. We will visit each of them and explore colorful streets and eastern bazars with interesting local traditional people and alive culture. We will go to great forts, rich palaces, Haveli houses, ancient step-wells and interesting museums. We will have camel safari and spend a night in desert. 

Program.

Day 1. Delhi.

Pick-up from airport. Depends on time of your flight you can sleep in Delhi hotel or start program straightly from the airport.

Today we will visit the best places in Delhi:

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib – beautiful temple of Sikh people with holy lake and canteen where everyone can have free food.

Colonial center with government buildings (Parliament, President Palace) and Indian Gate.

Qutub Minar – historical place with first mosque of India made from the pieces of 27^th hindu temples and highest minaret.

Lotus temple – famous futuristic temple for meditation and pray for all religions followers.

Akchardham –white temple, one of the biggest and most beautiful temples with numerous amount of sculptures

or

Cycle-rickshaw tour by the streets of one of the most interesting bazars in Delhi – Chandi-chowk, where you can see the real Indian life.

Day 2 Delhi –Jaipur (Pink city).

Transfer to the capital of Rajasthan – Jaipur city (4-5 hours way).

After check-in in hotel and short rest, we will start sightseeing: the City Palace where currently raja’s family live, Jantar Mantar – ancient observatory and famous Palace of Winds – Hawa mahal (from the side).

Then we will have a walk by the streets of the Pink-city with ancient buildings, alive bazars, rickshaws, animals and all colors of Rajasthan daily life.

Day 3. Jaipur.

After breakfast, we will visit the Amber Fort with beautiful maharaja palace inside. If we are lucky, we will find fakirs with cobras and street musicians. To the fort, you can come up by elephants.

Then we will see narrow streets of old city Amer and visit there the ancient Step-well.

On the way back to the Jaipur, we will make a stop near the beautiful lake to have a walk and take a photo of the water-palace – Jal-Mahal.

Sunset we will meet on the hill with Hanuman-temple known as a monkey-temple.

The next destination is Golden city Jaisalmer.

There you can go by flight (next morning) or by night train (arriving the next morning)

Day 4. Jaisalmer (Golden city).

Arriving before launch. Check in to hotel.

Jaisalmer – The Golden city of Rajasthan – is one of the most wonderful places surrounded by Tar desert. Here you can definitely feel the atmosphere of 1000 and 1 night stories!

We will visit the Jaisalmer fort – the only one fort in Rajasthan in which people live today. The city inside of city. We will have walking tour by its streets, to move to the hundreds years back.

After the active last days, we will have easy evening with traditional food in one of the cozy cafe of Jaisalmer.

Day 5. Jaisalmer, Tar desert.

After breakfast, we will visit the most beautiful Haveli-houses- rich-decorated old traditional buildings of Rajasthan belonged to merchants: Patvan Haveli, Nathmalji Haveli, Shrinath and Salim Singh Haveli.

After lunch we are go for camel-safari to the Tar desert. We will walk by dunes, will make beautiful photos, ride camels and sleep under the millions of stars in desert sky.

Day 6. Jaisalmer-Jodhpur (Blue city).

Today we will meet sunrise in the desert, will spend there some more time in these beautiful, unique places and will move back to the city.

After desert, we will have a couple of hours more in magic Jaisalmer city.

In the afternoon we will move to the Blue city Jodhpur (around 5 hours drive).

Day 7. Jodhpur (Blue city).

First of all we will visit the famous Mehrangarh fort of Jodhpur – the one of the most beautiful and rich-decorated fort of India. Here we can easy spend several hours, visiting interesting expositions inside and walking near huge walls with good view-point to get the panoramic view of the Blue city.

After small rest, we will have walking tour by blue streets to see colorful houses and friendly locals.

We will visit ancient step-well –architectural masterpiece, popular in Rajasthan and will make their interesting photos. Will walk to the clock tower Ghanta Ghar. Lose ourselves in Sardar bazar streets, famous by handicrafts, high quality spices and souses, loved all over the Rajasthan.

Day 8. Jodhpur- Udaipur (White city).

In the morning, we will move to Udaipur (around 5 hours’ drive), check-in to hotel and have small rest.

Udaipur is known as a White city of Rajasthan. White forts, Havelis, Palaces and other historical buildings, blue lakes and fresh atmosphere. This city considered the most romantic city of India, city of marriages and honeymoons, the European city of India, Indian Venice. All these names Udaipur really deserves. Here very clean, quiet, safe and fresh. Here we will relax and enjoy Indian reality in more comfortable atmosphere then in other places.

We will walk by Ghats near Pichola lake, drink masala-chai, look at different beautiful palaces around.

For sunset we will come up to the hill from where we will have a great picture of the white city.

Day 9. Udaipur.

Today we will have the full day of Udaipur sightseeing. We will visit white City Palace complex with many palaces and museums inside.

Then we will have boating by the Pichola Lake with a stop at Jagmandir island to visit Jag Mandir Palace and rest in the beautiful garden.

Will visit Jagdish Mandir  – the main temple of Udaipur dedicated to Vishnu, guarded by stony Garuda-bird and 2 elephants. Will see Cenotaphs of Indian Rajas – the most beautiful in Rajasthan.

Later we will visit the cultural village-museum were we can see traditional clothes, houses and dances of Rajasthan.

Day 10. Flight from Udaipur to Delhi.

Today is the final day of our tour.

Transfer to the Udaipur airport for Delhi flight.

In Delhi, we will provide you transfer to the hotel and then to the airport – timing depends on your future plans.

*optionally you can add safari in Rantambour national park – the best place to see tigers in India (+1 day) or/and Agra with beautiful Taj Mahal (+1 day).
